Calvin Lewis Ellis Allman, 86, of Peachtree City, Ga., formerly of Weaverville, died January 7, 2011.

Mr. Allman was born in Stocksville. He served in the Pacific during World War II. Thereafter, he entered Civil Service
attached to the Third U.S. Army. Calvin and Rhoda attended Park Street Methodist Church in Atlanta for many years before
moving to Peachtree City, Ga., in 1972. In 1980, Calvin retired but continued his previous work with the Boy Scouts in many
capacities. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club where he served as local club president and on the State Board of
Governors. Calvin and Rhoda were members of the Friendship Force and charter members of First Baptist Church of
Peachtree City where Calvin served as a deacon. Calvin was active in other civic affairs including the Peachtree City Library
and Lions Club Recycle for Sight program. Mr. Allman was preceded in death by his parents, Murray and Pearl Chambers
Allman; sisters, Fay Allman Morris (Burke Morris), Dorothy Allman Lowman (Robert Lowman); his wife of 44 years, Rhoda
Shaw Allman; second wife, Patricia Gunnell Allman who died November 18, 2010.

Surviving are his sons, David Allman (Constance) of Atlanta, Ga., Gary Allman (Barbara) of California; grandson, Daniel
(Amy) of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Emma Allman Rice of Asheville; nephews, Stuart Morris (Nancy) of Atlanta, Ga., Anthony Morris
(Cynthia) of Georgia, Jeff Rice (Misty) of Candler and Roy Rice (Wendy) of Weaverville; nieces, Norma Kay Rains (Dennis)
of Valdese and Angie Lowman Ausley (Jeff) of Candler; and his beloved in-laws for 60 years.

His funeral service was held at 3 p.m., Sunday, January 9, 2011, at Peachtree First Baptist Church. Interment was at
Westminster Memorials.

The family received friends at 1 p.m., Sunday, at Mowell Funeral Home.
