On 21 January 1920, when the census of Cowee Mountain School was taken, Charles Beasley, widower, resided there as a boarder, along with several others from the area. Also boarding at the school were his daughter Lucy, her husband Samuel Wikle, and three of their children.

The death certificate indicates that he died of "old age" and was buried in Liberty Cemetery.
