This website is a work in progress and it will probably continue to be that for a long time. The "What's
New" link on the front page will always give you news of the latest updates to the site, with the most
recent shown first. Also, if you use Facebook, feel free to join either or both of these groups:
"Childers and Kin from WNC" and "Shepherds and Kin from WNC" where updates for these two
families will be posted.
Please help by providing any information or materials (for example, photographs, names, dates,
biographical notes) you have.
To provide assistance with this effort, or to request information, please contact us by email. If you
wish to send items by US mail, please contact us for a current mailing address. Scanned photos sent
by email and photographic copies of photos are both excellent; "xerox" copies of photos don't work
as well.
Especially, please tell your immediate relatives about this project and encourage them to participate
by using the pages and by providing materials. Feel free to print pages for relatives who do not use
computers, or save pages you like to your own computer for safe-keeping.
Also, if you like using a computer, feel free to ask for assistance in setting up your own site for your
branch of the family.
