" . . . . He became a large property owner, a prosperous farmer and a prominent civic and religious
leader in the Morgan Hill community. He owner and operated a saw mill and a grist mill.
"At Flat Creek Baptist Church he served as church clerk, deacon, on many committees, and as a
delegate to the annual Baptist Association meetings.
"At the 1852 meeting of the French Broad Baptist Association the moderator appointed Noah Morgan
a member of the Board of Directors of the French Broad Baptist Institute, later to become Mars Hill
"One of the leaders in establishing the Morgan Hill Baptist Church in 1866, he gave the land for the
church, the cemetery, the school, and the Vance Masonic Lodge No. 293, A.F. & A.M.
"On January 28, 1851, the Legislature, in providing for the organization of the county government of
Madison County, named Noah Morgan as one of the commissioners to determine a site for the county
