Old Hop
                         abt 1690 - abt 1761

Old Hop was the principal chief of the Cherokee for
several years in the mid 1700's, during the time when the
British and French colonial authorities were vying with
each other to enlist the Cherokee as commercial partners
and political allies against the other side. He lived at  
Chota, Tennessee.
