Roy Clifford Shepherd died of dysentery (or flux, as it was
called then) as he neared the age of fourteen. This obituary
was prepared by George L. Farmer, J. H. Allman, and F. L.
Stockton, members of a committee of Piney Mountain Baptist
Church at that time.
