Charles G. Stevenson, 1887 - 1923
Note: The 1880 Census for Haywood County, NC (14-15 June 1880) lists Marion Stevenson's wife as "Priscilla", and it lists Anne Holyfield, 11,
and Charles Holyfield, 8, as Marion's step-children. Theodore Stevenson's NC Death Certificate (1934) lists his mother as "Pallie Hollifield".
Anne Holyfield Penland's death certificate (informed by her surviving husband J. M. Penland) lists "Perailla (Priscilla?) Hollifield" as the maiden
name for Anne's mother. This death certificate lists Anne's father as Marion Stevenson, but the 1880 Census information should be given more
weight because the immediate sources were likely more knowledgeable.
Note: Priscilla was listed as wife of Marion Stevenson in 1880. The Stevenson house was number 86 in that census and the Samuel Holyfield
house was number 89. As the death certificates of some Stevenson children listed "Priscilla Holyfield" as mother and the two Priscillas' ages
match, it is reasonable to assume that Marion Stevenson's wife Priscilla is Priscilla Holyfield, daughter of Samuel Holyfield.

"domestic ser't", Martha Evans, 3, and Mary Evans, 1. (This census did not indicate familial
relationships.) We have not found these three in 1880, or later. In 1880, Jane Holyfield, 67, resided in
Crabtree, Haywood Co NC, at house 121 with her grand-daughter Jane, 13. The Marion and Priscilla
Holyfield Stevenson family resided at house number 126.
